Make sure your family isn’t handed a bill.
Funeral costs vary a lot by provider and the services chosen, and most families find out the week it happens. Final expense coverage pays a death benefit straight to the people you name.

What a funeral costs in Ontario.
Final expense coverage is a smaller life insurance policy meant for the funeral and the bills that follow. Its death benefit is paid tax-free to your beneficiaries, so it doesn’t wait for your estate to be settled.

The simplest option most families consider.

Three simple steps.

Your decision
Go ahead on the call, or take a few days and talk it over with family. Either is fine.
Questions people ask me.
How much will it cost each month?
It depends on your age, the amount of coverage and a few health questions. I’ll give you your actual number on a short call. There’s no cost to ask.
Do I need a medical exam?
It depends on the product and the amount. Some options use health questions instead of a full exam. What you qualify for, and on what terms, depends on your answers and the insurer’s underwriting.
Can my monthly payment go up later?
Some plans keep the same payment for life. Others can change. I’ll tell you exactly which kind you’re looking at before you decide.
Is $25,000 the right amount?
It’s a common choice, because it covers a typical Ontario funeral with some left for final bills. But it’s your decision: some people choose less, some more.
Who gets the money?
The people you name. It’s paid to them directly, so it doesn’t have to wait for your estate to be settled.
What if I’ve been turned down before?
It happens more often than people think. Some options ask fewer health questions than others. Nobody can promise approval, but it’s often still worth looking.
Coverage is subject to eligibility, and options and costs vary by age and health. Funeral cost ranges are examples and vary by provider and services. Ontario residents only.
